About the Netherlands gold market

Dutch jewellery gold is typically 14K (585) or 18K (750), alongside a smaller market for higher-purity 22K pieces. Any gold item of 1 gram or more sold in the Netherlands must carry an official hallmark from an authorised assay office -- WaarborgHolland or Edelmetaal Waarborg Nederland -- stating the metal and its fineness. KmalServico's live price reflects 24K (999.9 fine) gold; a hallmarked 14K or 18K piece contains proportionally less fine gold.

Methodology

How we calculate the price

  • We fetch the international spot gold price (XAU/USD) live from gold-api.com + xaus.com, with automatic failover between providers.
  • The spot rate is converted into the local currency using live exchange rates from exchangerate-api.com, then scaled by purity (24K, 22K, 18K…) and by weight (gram, tola, ounce, kilogram, baht).
  • The result is the pure spot value. Retail counters may add dealer premium, tax and making charges — the number here is the underlying benchmark.
