Fineness

Purity expressed as parts per thousand (e.g. 999, 916, 750).

Definition

Fineness is the metric expression of gold purity. 999 fineness (99.9%) is investment grade; 916 (22K) dominates jewellery in India, the Gulf and Southeast Asia; 750 (18K) is standard in European jewellery. Every purity page on KmalServico uses fineness as the multiplier when converting spot into a local retail price.
