View full history →About the Denmark gold market
Denmark's precious-metal hallmarking law dates to a 1907 statute, in force since 1910, which required items to carry both a maker's mark and an official purity mark, with permitted gold fineness levels of 500, 750, 850, 900 and 950. Denmark remains one of a smaller group of European countries — alongside the UK, Ireland, Poland and Sweden — where hallmarking gold jewellery is a legal requirement, not a voluntary industry practice.

Methodology
How we calculate the price
- We fetch the international spot gold price (XAU/USD) live from gold-api.com + xaus.com, with automatic failover between providers.
- The spot rate is converted into the local currency using live exchange rates from exchangerate-api.com, then scaled by purity (24K, 22K, 18K…) and by weight (gram, tola, ounce, kilogram, baht).
- The result is the pure spot value. Retail counters may add dealer premium, tax and making charges — the number here is the underlying benchmark.
