View full history →About the Thailand gold market
In Thailand, "baht" is both the national currency and the standard gold-weight unit (1 baht-weight ≈ 15.2 grams) — a dual meaning that can confuse first-time buyers. The Gold Traders Association of Thailand sets a national reference price several times a day for 96.5%-pure gold (about 23K), the dominant purity for Thai jewellery — higher than the 18K/14K common in Western markets but below the 24K used for international bullion bars.

Methodology
How we calculate the price
- We fetch the international spot gold price (XAU/USD) live from gold-api.com + xaus.com, with automatic failover between providers.
- The spot rate is converted into the local currency using live exchange rates from exchangerate-api.com, then scaled by purity (24K, 22K, 18K…) and by weight (gram, tola, ounce, kilogram, baht).
- The result is the pure spot value. Retail counters may add dealer premium, tax and making charges — the number here is the underlying benchmark.
