Peruvian jewellery gold is traditionally worked at 18-karat purity, prized for both fineness and centuries-old artisanal craftsmanship tracing back to pre-Columbian Inca goldsmithing traditions. Some Peruvian gold is now certified through the Fairmined program, which verifies that artisanal and small-scale miners meet defined environmental and labour standards — a response to longstanding concerns about exploitation in parts of Peru's small-scale mining sector.

Methodology
How we calculate the price
- We fetch the international spot gold price (XAU/USD) live from gold-api.com + xaus.com, with automatic failover between providers.
- The spot rate is converted into the local currency using live exchange rates from exchangerate-api.com, then scaled by purity (24K, 22K, 18K…) and by weight (gram, tola, ounce, kilogram, baht).
- The result is the pure spot value. Retail counters may add dealer premium, tax and making charges — the number here is the underlying benchmark.
