KmalServico’s Bangladesh page uses Bangladeshi taka (BDT) and tola as its configured primary weight. In Bangladesh, the traditional unit is also known as bhori in gold-trade usage, while modern references may also be given in grams.

Bangladesh's daily gold rates are set by BAJUS (the Bangladesh Jewellers' Association), which publishes official prices for 22K, 21K and 18K gold — not 24K, since 99.9% pure gold is considered too soft for everyday jewellery in the Bangladeshi market. BAJUS's 2023 guidelines also made hallmarking mandatory and set a minimum making charge of Tk 300 per gram, both binding on member jewellers.

When comparing a jewellery quotation, ask for the exact weight and purity rather than only the total price. This is particularly useful when a seller uses bhori or tola language while another gives a gram price. KmalServico’s live reference can then be used as the metal-value benchmark. Country-specific tax or regulatory claims are intentionally omitted until verified from Bangladeshi government sources.

Methodology
How we calculate the price
- We fetch the international spot gold price (XAU/USD) live from gold-api.com + xaus.com, with automatic failover between providers.
- The spot rate is converted into the local currency using live exchange rates from exchangerate-api.com, then scaled by purity (24K, 22K, 18K…) and by weight (gram, tola, ounce, kilogram, baht).
- The result is the pure spot value. Retail counters may add dealer premium, tax and making charges — the number here is the underlying benchmark.
