How is the gold price in USD calculated?
The USD gold price is based directly on the international XAU/USD spot benchmark, then adjusted for the selected purity and weight unit. No FX conversion is needed because the benchmark is already quoted in US dollars.
How often does the USD gold price update?
Gold snapshots are refreshed automatically when the stored market quote is stale, targeting roughly five minutes. Because USD is the benchmark currency, no separate FX conversion is required. The timestamp on the page shows the actual provider data time.
Does the USD price include tax or making charges?
No. We publish the pure spot value in USD. Local retail prices add VAT/GST, import duty, dealer premium and — for jewellery — making charges on top of this figure.
